Chandi Kelley wears a lot of hats. She is an artist, photographer, and currently a curator at Maryland’s The Walter Art Museum. Her BFA in photography from the Corcoran College of Art and Design gave her an eye to capture everyday objects in magical, if not mystical, ways. The Young Artist Grant she received from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities in 2009 allowed her to present her first solo exhibition. Her works can be seen in many parts of the world, specifically in the permanent collection of the United States Embassy in Malta as well as in private collections in the U.S. She co-founded Project Dispatch, an art subscription service, and Outer Space. She serves on the DC Arts Center’s Visual Arts Committee and the Board of Directors. Her photographs were featured in a 2017 piece on the Washington City Paper, titled Transformer Gallery’s Luminiferous Aether Exhibition Evokes Ritualistic Witchiness.
